At home with the kids

I'm so impressed, even with Mom and Dad gone,
these cute kids do scriptures and prayers at night

We were looking at pictures on my laptop, when Maddaox saw this one of Jamie
he ran over and hugged the screen and said, "My Mommy, I love her!!"
Then when he saw a picture of Jason he said, "Look, that my Daddy, he my Best Friend!"

Maddox showed me the wagon and 'chocolate boat' he got from our house, so cute how he loves those :)

I quickly learned to keep a good eye on 'Mr. Independent'

Ryder has arrived!

Ryder Bryce Young was born about 11:45 pm on 6-7-11
He weighs 8 pounds and is sooo adorable!!
He and Momma Jamie are both doing great!

The rides to get everyone there for Ryder!

So Jayci and I arrived at the Phoenix airport soon after Jayson flew in (he had been out of town on business). So we jumped in Jason's car and headed to their house. We called Jamie as we were on our way, and her contractions were so hard it was decided that we should just meet her at the hospital.
So one friend went to their house to watch the kids, and her friend, Julie, drove Jamie to the hospital  (even ran a red light to get there)

We arrived at the hospital a few minutes before Jamie, and got our bags unloaded so Jayci and I could jump in Julie's truck to go back to Jamie's house to be with the kids.

Jamie's arrival at the hospital

Yes, it was time to go in...

Flying to Denver, then Phoenix

Jamie called this morning after her Dr appointment, and it looks like this baby will probably come today!
Thanks to Aunt Catherine, Jayci and I were able to hop on a plane and head to Phoenix.
The hard part was leaving Margaret and little Shannon in Iowa- when we pulled up at the airport Shannon said, "Daddy, airplane". When we told her Jayci and I were going to get on an airplane now she started crying, "no go Jaygi" I'm so glad they will soon be living at our house!

We flew from Des Moines to Denver- Catherine met us at the gate :)

It was fun to go see her office

Jayci loves 'favorite Aunt Catherine'

She got us right to our next gate, and we then flew from DEN to PHX

Science Center of Iowa

The girls had a fun time together at the Science Center of Iowa.
There were so many interesting things to see!

Shannon putting on a puppet show

Bubble blowing

Giant Legos

Did you know that liquid nitrogen is more than 300 degrees below zero?
Jayci loved the science demonstrations.

The girls got to see and touch a real turtle, snake and salamander.

On this wall they made balls blow through the tubes.

Another favorite thing to see was the Star Theater.

State Capital

Des Moines is the Capital of Iowa. This is their majestic State Capital building
