Girls Book Club!

For our first Book Club selection we read the new book "The Help"

We met at the Pizza Factory to discuss the book

Then we went to the theater to watch the movie together :)

So fun!!!! 

Our next book will be Persuasion by Jane Austen

We will meet on Sept 17 to discuss it and watch the movie

We would love to have anyone join us! 

Maybe we could Skype it!

Back to School!

Yesterday, the evening before school started,

we gathered at our house for dinner and Father's Blessings.

Dad gave blessings to eight of us, 

 then Troy gave blessings to his family.

Today is

 Jayci's first day of 3rd grade

at Enoch Elementary

Of course yesterday I had to run to WalMart

for a couple of last minute back-to-school items, and 

when we came out of the store, the Home Depot, across the parking-lot,

was being evacuated because of a fire right behind it.

You can see the helicopter trying to spray the fire out.

I grabbed my camera and got a picture of the excitement :)

Jessica's Here!

After working in Salt Lake City all summer as an office clerk at KOA,

 Jessica is now home and ready to start school at SUU!

 It is great to have her back home!

Heather's Here!

We are excited to have my niece Heather come live with

 us in preparation to her going to SUU.

We spent some time with her family on campus today. 

 Tom, Heather, Stephanie, and my sister Rebecca

Today Jayci turned 9 on the 9th-

 it is her Golden Birthday!!

and Dad turned 55

Started with Breakfast in bed

We went to the Aquatic Center for a swim party

Then we went to Discovery Park for a picnic

We picked up some Cafe Rio (it's Taco Tuesday!)

and Jayci opened her presents

Her favorite- an MP4 player (does music & pictures & videos)

She also liked her little Smurf-

 (we went and saw the new Smurf movie last night

 as part of her birthday celebration).

She also got clothes and new shoes

Dad was happy to get black licorice :)

He also got a new workbench 

in his garage

Aaahh, the beautiful birthday cake!

Jayci wanted a marbled 9 layer cake.

A 3 layer cake was all I could manage, 

 and as you can see, it soon started having problems.

And was worse by the time we got it to the park

I know you are impressed with my cake making skills :)

Janessa did not inherit her cake decorating talent from me!

Bishop Jolley's favorite present was getting keys today to our new church building.

 This is his new Bishop's office

(as you cane see the pictures are not even hung up yet.

We will start meeting in this building in about 2 weeks.

 It is a beautiful Stake Center, is was fun to go inside and see it)

So today Jayci turned 9 and Dad turned 55,

they are sharing a 9:55 moment

here on Tues 8-9
